Postpartum Doula Services!
At this time, because of scheduling, I'm only offering postpartum doula services for my already birth doula clients.
The first few weeks with baby are very special, but can be a bit daunting. Friends and family are a great help, but sometimes, not always enough. Maybe, family is too far away to be able to help! Postpartum doula services are a great way to ease the first few weeks with baby. Just like the benefits of having a doula with you during the birth, a postpartum doula can be a great support! Anywhere from momma, baby, breastfeeding, and household help! We can help with both the physical and emotional changes during this special time.
Here is the kind of support that I offer for the postpartum time:
Momma care! ~ I can help mom with the physical and emotional aspects of the post partum time. I can suggest comfort techniques, help with keeping mom hydrated, help make healthy snacks, and make sure mom can get a shower or nap when needed!
Baby care! ~ I can help guide the new parents with tips about basic baby care. Help with bathing, diapering, umbilical stump care, dressing baby, and help with using a sling or baby carrier.
Breastfeeding support! ~ I can help with basic breastfeeding support. Tips with latching, positions, and milk storage and pumping. If needed referrals will me made, if issues go beyond my expertise.
Household help! ~ Yep, you heard right- household help! I would love to be able to make your first weeks with baby easier. I do LIGHT tasks (vacuuming, laundry, dishes, tidying up the house, etc.) I also can help with simple food prep for the family. Phone and door answering, feed the pets, water the plants, pick up groceries, and quick simple errands. Limited sibling care is provided. And local resources and referrals given if needed.
Here is what I DON'T do:
HEAVY house work (bathrooms, mopping floors, scrubbing, etc.) yard work or babysitting for long periods of time (other than me watching baby (and siblings) if mom needs a shower or nap.

I also try not to be so 'hands on'- I am there to be more of a guide for the parents
Fees:
I charge $20.00/hr with a minimum of 3 hours a day and a minimum of two days a week. I do offer sliding scale on postpartum services too, so please contact me if this is something you may need.
